Albania Onyx
Description
The Albania is the silhouette that started it all. Hand-stitched onyx leather over a moulded cork footbed, finished by a single craftsman from cut to last. Eight years of refinement — what arrives at your door has been worn, walked-in, and reworked dozens of times before this version.
Designed to mould to your foot in the first week, then last a decade. Salt-tested. Rain-tested. Quietly understated.

Eight years of obsession, in every pair.
Hand-stitched
Waxed thread, sewn by hand. Every stitch placed by a single craftsman, never machined.
Cork footbed
Natural cork & latex moulds to your foot in a week. Suede-lined for skin-soft contact.
Full-grain leather
Top-1% Indian buff leather. Develops a richer patina with age — better in year three than year one.
1-year warranty
Stitching, soles, hardware. If anything fails inside 12 months, we repair or replace at zero cost.
Brushed, shaped,
sealed by hand.
Watch a single Albania pair being finished — about 90 seconds of the 6 hours that go into every sandal we ship.

Three monsoons and a Goa summer.
The Albania has been salt-tested off the Konkan coast and rain-tested through three Mumbai monsoons before it ever reached our line. The leather only gets better with use.
- Salt-resistant, water-tested upper
- Hand-burnished sole edges (no peeling)
- Footbed dries fast after rain

Cork that moulds to your foot.
The footbed is natural cork bonded with latex, lined in soft suede. After about a week of daily wear, it permanently takes the shape of your foot — like a hardback bookmark you can't share.
- Anatomical arch support & toe bar
- Suede lining (no plastic against your skin)
- Replaceable footbed — extends life by years

Stitched, never glued.
Most fast-fashion sandals are glued at the seams. Glue cracks. Our straps are stitched with waxed thread — twice — and reinforced at every stress point. Each stitch is one of the things you're paying for.
- Double-stitched straps with waxed thread
- Hand-cemented EVA outsole
- Brushed antique-brass buckle
Six layers, one footbed.
Every Dsignes pair sits on the same workshop-built six-layer cork footbed. Skin-soft suede on top, shock-absorbing cork in the middle, grippy EVA on the ground.

From real pairs.
Best sandals I've ever owned.
I was hesitant at the price but after a month of daily wear, the leather has moulded perfectly to my feet. Stitching is exquisite — you can tell each pair is hand-finished. Bought a second pair in Mahogany.
Worth every rupee.
Replaced my old branded sandals with these. The cork footbed is a game-changer — moulds to your foot in a week. Will be buying again.
Solid pair, slightly tight at first.
Took about 4 days for the leather to soften. Once it did, super comfortable. Recommend going half-size up if you have wider feet.
Better than imported alternatives.
Compared these directly with a German brand I've worn for years. The Albania feels just as solid, looks more refined, and costs less than half. Made-in-India craft at its finest.
Questions, answered.
Sizing, care, returns — everything you'd ask before buying. Don't see yours? Drop us a line and we usually reply within an hour.
Email usHow do I find my right size?
The Albania fits true to size. If you're between sizes — or have wider feet — we recommend going half a size up. Our footbed has anatomical contours, so it's better to have a tiny bit of room around the toe than a tight fit.
Use the size chart for UK / US / EU / CM conversion. If you're still unsure, exchanges are free for 30 days.
What's the break-in period?
About 4–7 days of regular wear. The cork footbed needs a little body heat and pressure to mould to the shape of your foot. Once it does, it stays that way — it's the most personal part of the sandal.
Tip: wear them indoors for an hour or two on the first two days before a longer outing.
Are these waterproof?
Water-resistant, not waterproof. The leather is treated to handle rain, splashes, and the occasional puddle dash, but please don't submerge them or wear them at the pool/beach for long stretches.
If they get wet: dry away from direct heat (no hair dryer, no sunlight), stuff with newspaper if soaked, and condition the leather lightly the next day.
How do I clean and care for them?
Daily: wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Weekly: brush the cork footbed with a soft brush; condition leather every 4–6 weeks with a neutral cream.
Storage: keep them in the cotton dust bag we provide. Avoid plastic — leather needs to breathe.

What's the difference between leather, nubuck, and suede?
Full-grain leather: smooth, develops a patina, water-resistant, easiest to clean.
Nubuck: top-grain leather sanded for a velvety surface — softer feel, slightly more prone to marks.
Suede: the underside of the hide, soft and matte, needs a brush kit and avoid water.
Are these vegan?
The Albania, Bahrain, Italy, Doha, and Dubai use full-grain leather (not vegan). For a vegan option, look at our Algeria, Belgium, Chicago, and Egypt models — they use a high-grade vegan microfibre upper that's animal-free, water-resistant, and made in India.
How does the warranty work?
Every pair has a 1-year warranty on stitching, sole adhesion, and buckle hardware against manufacturing defects. Normal wear and tear isn't covered. If something goes wrong inside 12 months, email warranty@dsignes.com with photos and your order number — we'll repair or replace at no cost.
How do returns and exchanges work?
Free returns and exchanges within 30 days, anywhere in India. The pair must be unworn and in its original box. Tried them on indoors? That's fine.
Email returns@dsignes.com or use the link in your order email — we send a prepaid pickup label within 24 hours.
Do you offer EMI?
Yes. No-cost EMI is available on all major credit cards on orders above ₹3,000 — 3, 6, 9 and 12-month tenures. We also offer pay-in-three with select UPI partners. Pick "EMI" at checkout to see the plans available on your card.
Where do you ship to?
India only at the moment. Free shipping on orders above ₹1,500, ₹99 below that. Standard delivery takes 3–5 business days; express (1–2 days) and same-day options are available at checkout (in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru only). Cash on Delivery available for orders below ₹10,000.
Treat them well, they'll last a decade.

Store in dust bag
The cotton bag in your box keeps them away from sun and dust.
